General Notes (Husband)Lived in Mendona Co. Ohio to 1838, then to Wisconsin. He plotted the town of
Genesee, Wisconsin. Donated land for cemetery at LaFarge, Wisconsin. There is a statue of him in this cemetery.
In 1878 he settled in Vernon Co. Wisconsin. His adopted son joined him. they had a store, blacksmith shop, and a mill. Later he built a school. The son Anson, was the teacher. Anson came in 1875. They called it "The DeJean Corners". We were told a DeJean had a furniture store in LaFarge too, at one
time.
There were some half brothers and sisters of Thomas' children in Oregon, so either Thomas or Polly Butterfield had been married before.
Thomas' nickname was "Tad".
